We have an opportunity for a Endoscopy Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.This is a FULL time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Shifts will cover 0800-2000 Monday - Saturday.Applicants should meet the following criteria:Registered Practitioner with NMC or HPC registration.Basic and advanced Competence / qualification in Endoscopy Care and Decontamination.Operators Course in Endoscopy Decontamination.Teaching / Assessing / mentorship qualifications Knowledge of appropriate standards and external bodies (Care Quality Commission, GRS, JAG, HTM 01 -06).ILS.Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.Previous experience as a Registered Practitioner or equivalent in an endoscopy service.Experience and training in pain management, care of the deteriorating patient, care of patient under conscious sedation requiring monitored recovery.Experience of clinical governance and audit.Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills across a range and varied patient case mix and competent across a range of skills including clinical and decontamination.Evidence of working in partnership with Consultants to explore and challenge existing practices while maintaining and enhancing services and standards.At least 1 year’s previous experience as a Registered Practitioner or equivalent in an endoscopy service.ALS desirable.Duties of this role include: To provide quality planned care across the endoscopy patient pathway, supporting and assisting the Endoscopy Practitioner Lead in the management and organisation of care provision within the endoscopy unit. Develop own competence to deliver effective care and treatments through improving clinical/technical knowledge / skill, and expertise.Communicate appropriately with others involved in the care of the patient.Act as an advocate for safeguarding patients; demonstrate courage to speak up when there are concerns about care.Demonstrate commitment to improving care and the patient experience.
