Night Care Manager
Orchard Care Homes – Penworrtham Grange & Lodge, PR1
Shifts – 38.5 hours per week
Pay - £9.00 per hour

Penwortham Grange & Lodge - a modern and bright care home in Penwortham, specialising in care for older people. Penwortham Grange provides 24-hour residential care for 44 residents, while the separate Penwortham Lodge gives round the clock additional dementia support for 42 elderly residents.
The home offers a wide range of features designed with the comfort, privacy and independent lifestyle choices of residents in mind. All bedrooms are ensuite and are warm and comfortable, with modern amenities and services. Each room is decorated to high standards and we encourage people to personalise their own rooms to ensure they feel relaxed and familiar in their own home.

Essential criteria


2-3 years’ experience in care environment


Able to demonstrate led a team or supervisory position


Minimum QCF/NVQ Level 2 in Direct Care


Completion of NVQ3 in Direct Care within 1 year of taking up post


Experience of administering medication


Experience of care planning and risk assessment in order to meet individual needs



Good literacy skills (to be able to write and evaluate care plans)



Desirable


Have experience of care planning for residents with complex needs


Computer literate

Be polite, friendly, warm and supportive of residents individual needs providing accurate personalise care plans
Provide the highest level of personal care (supporting with toileting, bathing etc.) relevant to the needs of each individual residents care plan. Mentor new staff leading by example
Enjoy a busy environment – administering medication, serving meals and ensuring the resident’s rooms and the home are kept clean, pleasant and welcoming at all times
Ability to communicate with older people and be interested in their needs
Eager to complete all training relevant to your role to ensure continual professional development
