Scrub First Assistant (ODP/RGN)Spire Wellesley HospitalFull TimeEquivalent to Band 6 – Up to £38,000 depending on experience plus a £2000 retention bonus after 6 months of service. Flexible Hours and Fixed Term Contracts available.
Spire Wellesley has 3 state of the art Theatres and a 33 bedded Surgical Ward covering a wide variety of specialties including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Vascular, Plastics, Gynae, Opthamology, Spinal, Urology and ENT. You will develop your 1st assistant experience in a wide variety of specialties in a very supportive environment.
This is your chance to take on a senior role within our operating theatres. Determined to drive excellence, you will act as an advanced surgical practitioner while supporting the management and organisation of care within the operating theatre. Your hands-on responsibilities will include retracting tissue and organs, removing haemostats, using suction equipment and assisting with the placement and cutting of sutures and ligatures. You’ll act as a role model of perioperative practice, supporting colleagues to develop their knowledge and experience.We can accommodate flexible hours and if you are unsure about a role in the Private sector but would like the security of a contract we can also offer a fixed term contract of 6 months, 9 months or 12 months leading to a permanent role if you are happy or your long term circumstances change. Passionate about putting our patients first, you will have considerable experience of working in and across surgical teams as an advanced perioperative practitioner. You’ll be a qualified operating department practitioner with an advanced scrub practitioner qualification in perioperative practice or corporate competencies. Committed to sharing best practice with colleagues to enhance service and standards, you will be trained on a wide range of equipment and medical devices. Experience of supporting commercial development would be desirable.
