Registered Nurse - RGN

Our client is a South Yorkshire-based care home dedicated to providing a range of nursing care services to elderly service users and younger adults with dementia.

Ideally a Qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN) with relevant care home experience will be considered. As a key member of the nursing team you will be expected to support the Lead Nurse and Services Manager in ensuring the highest standards of care delivery and compliance at all times.

Your duties as a Registered Nurse - RGN:

Acting as a named Nurse for identified residents - ensuring all aspects of Care Planning are implemented and reviewed according to relevant protocols.
Ensuring all care plans have risk assessments that are relevant, clearly identified and that risk management plans are clear and consistent.
Ensuring that all standards of care procedures are implemented to the highest standard.
Ensuring policies for the safe storage, custody and safe administration of medicines are carried out to the highest standard.
Assisting the Lead Nurse in ensuring that all Clinical documentation/procedures comply with all applicable legislation including report writing.
Attending and taking part in clinical and care meetings as required.
Assisting in directing Support Workers in the management of work flows.
Assisting and supporting staff to achieve high quality care through innovative and evidence based practice.
Promoting active resident involvement wherever possible.
Reporting any relevant issues to the Registered Nursing Home Manager or Deputy.


The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

RGN qualified, NMC registered and hold a valid PIN number.
A proven track record of working in a similar adult care / residential housing environment.
Knowledge of social and health needs of people with profound disabilities and rights of people with a learning disability, alongside the ability to ensure that residents' needs, wishes and aspirations are acknowledged and met wherever possible.
Understanding of the requirements of the National Minimum Standards for Care Homes for Adults.
Excellent communication skills - able to interact well with residents, their families and members of staff.
The ability to work both on your own and as a vital part of the support team.
