This global health technology business delivers safer, more effective and cost-efficient, diagnostic-led care. This role is based in the development unit in Camborne, Cornwall. They are looking for a Lead Automation Test Engineer to work as part of an agile development team to suitably test all software developed by the company to the agreed standards and specifications.

Requirements:

- Experience using source control, programming IDEs and database management tools
- Experience of test automation methodologies, practices and frameworks
- Experience of automation scripting languages
- Excellent knowledge of software testing techniques especially in an agile environment
- Understating of web application technical architecture (i.e. authentication, API, HTTP, JSON)
- Understanding of information governance, privacy and data security within a healthcare setting
- An adaptable and flexible approach to work with individuals and groups
- Innovative thinking
- A high degree of integrity, confidentiality and commitment

Responsibilities:

1. To work with and lead the team to design and build automation framework components that enable test implementation across web and mobile channels; enabling frequent releases at a reduced cost to the business while increasing coverage and improving the scalability of the software.

2. To define and shape an adequate software test strategy, methodology, procedures and guidelines that can be applied to all products under development. This can be done through documentation, diagrams, workshops or a format that best meets the needs of the business.

3. Lead in reviewing and improving test strategy and performing exploratory testing, finding weak spots in the interactions between apps, products and the micro-service orientated cloud platform.

4. Responsible for ensuring the documentation of the above bullet points are maintained and kept up to date to ensure compliance with our regulatory standards (i.e. ISO13485, 9001 etc.).

5. Provide evaluation, support and guidance to Test Analysts pertaining to methodologies, frameworks, test environments and tools as well as supporting any manual testing activity where appropriate.

6. Line management responsibility for members of the development team.

7. To work with senior members of the team to help define the toolset needed to enable the Delivery team to achieve their strategic objectives with a strong emphasis on automation and continuous integration & delivery.

8. To contribute to the overall technology strategy of the department, attending and participating in architectural and technical reviews.

9. Work with the Lead Architect, Lead Software Developers, Senior DBA and Software Development Manager to define a standard set of tests for testing non-functional requirements such as performance, load, and scalability etc.

10. Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of core system and processes, and how those systems and processes interact (end-to-end testing).
