Software Support Consultant / Technical Support Engineer - Arabic Speaker

A Software Support Consultant / Technical Support Engineer who can speak Arabic is needed to take up a once in a lifetime opportunity and relocate to Abu Dhabi or Qatar to join a global technology business.

With 24 offices in the UK, Europe, Middle East, North America and Australia, our client delivers powerful software solutions to natural history museums, cultural history museums, art museums, herbaria, botanic gardens and archives across the world. They are considered as leaders in their field with their technology used by many of the largest and most well recognised museums and institutions in the world.

Joining the Middle East team as a Software Support Consultant / Technical Support Engineer you will support existing and new customers in Qatar, UAE, Egypt and other parts of the Middle East. You will be the first point of contact who require assistance with their software packages which run on UNIX and Windows systems. You will be responsible for managing and investigating support enquiries and software bugs and ensuring that customer support tickets are resolved as quickly as possible. You must be able to explain technical problems and solutions to end-users who might not be so well versed in technology so fantastic communication skills are key.

To qualify... You should be a customer focused Software Support Consultant / IT Support Executive / Technical Support Engineer / Helpdesk Support Exec or similar who can demonstrate:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK or Middle East;
  • A fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic;
  • Education to degree level or equivalent (ideally in Computer Science or similar);
  • Experience within a IT help-desk support role (ideally);
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • The ability to understand and meet deadlines;
  • The ability and enthusiasm to learn quickly;
  • The willingness to travel and work without constant supervision.

Knowledge of object orientated or relational database design (SQL) is desirable. Experience of Unix, Unix Administration, shell scripting, HTML, PHP, JavaScript, CSS and other Web technologies is beneficial. A familiarity with Windows Servers is advantageous. Any experience gained working in the Middle East is a plus. A background gained working with museum software is also a nice to have.
