Learning Resources Facilitator

Salary: £6,742 - £7,077 per annum

Hours of Work: 18.5 Hours per Week, Term Time only - 36 Weeks per Year


Fareham College offers brand new state of the art facilities comprising of workshops, teaching classrooms, learning resource centres, restaurants, a theatre, a hair & beauty salon and associated facilities. The successful candidate will be a member of a team of over 300 academic and business support staff. Fareham College is seeking two part time Learning Resources Facilitators to support our curriculum teams with the development and use of a comprehensive suite of e-learning resources. This role will actively engage and support learners in accessing the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and other e-learning resources.



The iLearning Resources Centre (iLRC) is a valuable college resource which offers our students access toa suite of PCs, books, journals, publications, e-resources and a quiet study area. Directed Independent Study is a key feature of the new Study Programme and has led to many more students accessing the iLRC to work on assignments and carry out research. Such activities need to be supported by innovative and enthusiastic facilitators who are experienced in supporting students and understanding their diverse needs and abilities.

Duties

  • Developing e-learning resources.
  • Supporting students using e-learning resources in the iLRC.
  • Monitor and support students to make most effective use of their learning time.
  • Plan and deliver workshops to both staff and students on current topics of interest. E.g. Referencing, PowerPoint

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and communicate with young people
  • Level 3 qualification in literacy (or equivalent)
  • Confident in presenting using a variety of media
  • Self-motivated and adaptable
