Senior Business Systems Analyst required for prestigious financial global organisation based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. you will be capturing and interpreting business and functional requirements, producing the business process architecture, system specifications and logical designs necessary to modify, enhance or develop solutions to support Card Transaction Services Business operations and the provision of products and services which support the ATM Switch, ATM Managed Services and Top-up Services and Faster Payments Central Infrastructure, ensuring quality across the full delivery and proactively identifying improvements to designs and processes.

Daily Duties:

  • Providing a strong base of knowledge on the company systems, business architecture and applications to the project teams, internal and external customers and management for consultation.
  • To provide support to the Solutions Delivery Manager defining and continually improving policies, standards and guidelines to support the team in consistently delivering a high quality, efficient service, and providing a leadership role among peers in their area of authority, deputising for the Solutions Delivery Manager where required.
  • Responsibility for developing comprehensive business and functional requirements documentation, utilising a wide range of analytical tools and techniques to communicate requirements on simple to complex projects.
  • Formulating and defining systems scope and objectives based on customer, end user, business system and industry requirements.
  • Evaluating existing operations and systems for current functionality and the effect proposed changes or projects may have on business architecture and systems processes, working with management and internal customers to assess and advise on change impact for new business and technology change.
  • Responsibility for developing logical design components which will detail application interfaces, configuration data and where relevant technical design. May include system charts, logical and physical models, hardware specifications, file specifications, message specifications, data dictionaries, UML based design, wireframes and user interface specifications.
  • Responsibility for working with development to bring in application knowledge to logical designs and with production to ensure solutions are acceptable for production support purposes.
  • Responsibility for participating throughout the project life cycle, from design through to implementation.
  • Understanding the technical constraints in which solutions must operate, and translates these into nonfunctional requirements.
  • To proactively provide senior analysis direction and support to their manager, project managers, developers and testers.
  • To identify cost-effective solutions and delivery methodologies to ensure the best possible cost, time and quality delivery of change.
  • Skills Required:

  • Detailed knowledge of two or more key business/technical areas of the company ATM and Mobile portfolio - ATM Driving, mobile banking, Transaction switching, Card Schemes and Back Office (settlement, invoicing, MI).
  • Experience of UML based analysis. Complete knowledge of most phases of the systems development life cycle and knowledge of the business implications of application technology to the current and future environment.
  • Requirements analysis and workshop facilitation experience.
  • Data Analysis background.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Experience of using formal methods, systems concepts, analytical disciplines, processes, procedures to effectively communicate requirements and proposed solution.
  • Possesses knowledge of multiple technologies, including Web, Client Server, Mainframe and databases.
  • Database experience and the ability to analyse source system data structures.
  • Successful at bridging gaps between users and developers and is comfortable interfacing with all levels of staff and management.
  • In depth experience within the Cards or Payments industry.
  • In depth experience of Information Services, Systems Development, Support or other related field with a strong emphasis on business or systems analysis or analytical problem solving.
  • Demonstrable experience of the full project life cycle.
