The successful applicant will work as part of the Hardware Engineering team, reporting to a Hardware Team Leader, and be involved in the design and validation of high bandwidth embedded sub-systems and the design of hardware and software test-benches. The role will give the satisfaction of seeing designs move smoothly into production within a world leading company.
Responsibilities for the role of Hardware Engineer will include:
> Product development of high speed digital and mixed signal systems based on FPGAs or embedded processors, with an emphasis on the integration of board-level, RTL and firmware components.
> Board bring-up and debug, using scopes, analyzers and embedded firmware IDE's to verify signal integrity, functionality and performance.
> Development of embedded firmware drivers for FPGA functions and external ASSP devices, including communication with software engineers to agree APIs and debug test benches.
As the selected Hardware Engineer, your technical skills and experience should include:
> Experience in integration of board design, FPGA and firmware developments, and software drivers.
> VHDL or Verilog, and an understanding of FPGA operation and tool-flows.
> C programming for embedded systems and for system debug.
> A systematic and analytical approach to debug and problem solving.
