Computer Vision Engineer

Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Computer Vision Engineer to join our high profile client.

Our client is a small unique prop trading firm trading in a very unique market. They have around 40 employees with 3 offices globally. Much of what they do is a closely guarded secret that fill be discussed through the process. Their performance is market leading.

This a new project to create real time video monitoring for sports match prediction.

Successful candidates will work on interesting Machine Learning problems in order to help my client achieve their mission, which is to establish sports betting as an alternative asset class for sophisticated investors.

The Quantitative Research Team works to develop and implement statistical and Machine Learning models for analysing and predicting the outcome of sporting events. The signals generated by these models to inform sports betting by professional traders. My client currently models football, tennis and basketball and are looking to extend their range to cricket, golf, American football and ice hockey.

The quant team supports or are directly involved in many key business areas from market making, proprietary trading to data modelling, business analysis and product design

Responsibilities:

Developing and prototyping new algorithms for machine learning training and inference

Applying these algorithms autonomous trading systems and predictive sports models

Collaborating with machine learning researchers in leading universities and research labs. We have formal partnerships with 4 universities in the UK

As a research scientist, you will lead and participate in research projects involving a small team, collaborating in a friendly work environment.

Candidates MUST have:

Masters or PhD (preferred) in statistics, computer science, engineering or related field

2+ years experience in working with large data sets in a related field (demonstrable)

Experience of computer vision

Record of publishing in peer-reviewed journals

Strong familiarity with Python (preferred), R, Matlab or C/C++

Familiarity with Theano, Torch, Caffe, TensorFlow or similar is a plus

This is a role for someone who has a bright mind as well as being keen to make serious money doing something you are passionate about.
