IT Systems Buyer- Contract

My client based in Northampton is looking for an interim IT systems buyer to provide a professional procurement service including, stakeholder engagement, tender management and commercial negotiation for the supply of IT systems. At all times the successful individual will ne to ensure that value for money is achieved. Ensuring all procurements is taken into consideration financial, environmental, health and safety and ethical policies and regulations.

Main Responsibilities

Work with the relevant key stakeholders across the business to develop category/project specific sourcing strategies. The postholder will assess potential routes to market reviewing risks and working closely with the key stakeholders they will recommend the optimal procurement routes, having considered all key risks and issues.

Interpret and assist in the development of specifications of IT systems from stakeholder requirements.

Manage systems related sourcing projects ensuring that they are delivered in an efficient and effective manner. Ensure appropriate selection/award criteria has been defined in order to allow for decision making. Undertake commercial & contractual negotiations on selection of a preferred bidder

Prepare tender documents in accordance with internal and external policies and regulations ensuring operational, ethical, environmental and social requirements are considered

On a regular basis review and manage purchase requisitions allocated for action to ensure they are processed in line with business policy and procedures. Liaise with the requisitioner, Deputy Procurement Manager and suppliers where required to ensure the correct contractual documents are developed with the purchase order.

Proactively assess and resolve procurement queries and issues related to projects or specific requisitions as required.

Proactively build and maintain networks and working relationships with stakeholders across the business at multiple levels through the use of appropriate verbal and written communications (e.g. meetings, phone, email, reports).

Regularly prepare post tender reports, management information reports and savings reports. Ensure contractual documentation is stored and updated correctly
