One of our established Video Game clients in Central London is looking for a Lead Game Developer with excellent technical skills and the ability to lead teams. The Lead Developer is responsible for strategic technical processes and implementation of projects from outset to market.

Along with the producer you will be project stakeholder and member of leadership team sharing accountability throughout all stages of production of the project typically with a turnaround of 1-2 years.

Responsibilities

Understanding design necessities as well as the studio's creative aspirations.Research and development on all strategic levels.Analysing technical capabilities and resourcing requirements.Management and development of team members.Collaborate on the roadmap and sprint planning, providing estimates and technical plans.Ensure technology plans are robust and understood by stakeholders, reporting progress both internally and externally.Mentoring team members, giving feedback, setting expectations and delegating.Planning with the Principal Engineering Team how to best shape standards across the studio.

Requirements

Excellent programming skills in C# and / or C++.Previous commercial experience in a game design environment .Gaming Platform Development.Game development tooling and processes.Source control systems such as Git & Perforce.Passion for gaming .

Desirable experience:

Experience leading a teamProgramming for consoles including an understanding of TCRs/TRCs and the certification process.Unity Platform Experience with current graphics programming, including Cg/HLSL and/or compute shaders, is a strong plus.Experience with mobile software development kits and frameworks.Understanding of client/server communication and data serialisation.Understanding of 2D and 3D animation.Experience with build scripts and systems i.e. Jenkins, Team City, Ant, Make etc...Scripting languages (JavaScript, Python).Knowledge using and scripting common art and 3D software packages.
