Senior C# Developer
Reports to: Development Manager.
Our Berkshire based client is looking for an experienced C# Developer with the following must have skills and experience:-
Around 7 years C# experience
Desktop / web applications
SQL / Oracle
Candidates must have excellent communications skills and be eligible to work in the UK with any restriction.

This role involves the design, development, maintenance and pre-release testing of our clients software products, primarily targeted at the laboratory automation market, through both Desktop and Web interfaces.
The role encompasses coding and pre-release testing of new enhancements and bug fixes to existing company products, as well as the architecture of new developments and taking a leading role in introducing new ideas, techniques and working practices. Some mentoring of the rest of the team in this regard will be part of the role, as will supporting the Development Manager in introducing such changes
The role will be expected to interact with members of other teams, particularly in the development of specifications for new work.
It is a part of all development roles that each developer has the responsibility for ensuring his or her work is of a high standard and as far as is reasonable fit for purpose before release to others for further testing, following departmental practice.
This role is required to work unattended or as a team member as the dictates of the work require. Flexibility in working times to meet deadlines where necessary is an essential quality, as is honesty, reliability and a willingness to work with (or for) colleagues regardless of the colleagues? age, sex, religion or race. The observance of professional standards of work and conduct is essential.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Develop and maintain a detailed technical understanding of company products and the environments in which they are used.
Produce well-designed program structures and code that follow company standards, including appropriate levels of commenting and accurate supporting documentation as well as adequate prerelease testing using both manual and automated tests. Pre-release testing of other developers? work is also a requirement.
Contribute to the architecture of new products, bug fixes and enhancements to existing products. Problem analysis and resolution is a core part of this role.
Keep abreast of new developments in software engineering where these may contribute to the success of the company's products.
Support the Development Manager in the introduction of new ideas, techniques and working practices.
Lead or assist in, as appropriate, the further development of the department?s technical infrastructure.
Support and assist the team?s drive to continual improvement of both process and product quality, including assisting with the evolution of the department?s operating procedures.
Produce time and resource estimates, schedules and plans for work for which you have direct responsibility, or as requested by the Development Manager.
Other activities related to the department?s work may be required from time to time.
Conduct all the above in a manner which supports and assists the company?s continuing ISO9001 certification.
