About the role
The key purpose of this role is to build, maintain and support the applications infrastructure within CNSS. This includes test, training, DR and production environments. For production this also includes the provision of on-call support. Also to provide technical governance in relation to applications software delivered from delivery partners, both internal to Capita and external 3rd parties.

What you will do:
Monitoring and technical support of CMSS applications and infrastructure
Application and infrastructure configuration for CMSS test and production environments
Creation and maintenance of information feeds to clients and third party services
Investigation of technology issues and support of the testing of the solutions
Participate in deployment of Windows-based production applications and associated prerequisites
Execute the controls that ensure production infrastructure and data access is controlled in line with Data Protection requirements
Maintain technical documentation (guidelines and processes) relating to complex applications infrastructures
Apply application s/w releases to environments in line with project delivery schedules
Provide technical support during testing and implementation of new releases of applications s/w
Perform technical governance of system releases delivered by external partners (Full and Patch)
Assist in taking new applications under Configuration Management control
Perform full system build and deployment from Escrow deposit in line with contractual agreements
Your experience will include:
WIndows Server 2000/2003/2008 (32 and 64 bit) administration and troubleshooting
Able to support customized third party application software for the Windows architecture and Web based environments
Able to support customized third party Java application software deployed within Java application servers
Experienced in troubleshooting applications running Microsoft Internet Information Services
Able to perform basic SQL operations against backend databases to assist in application monitoring, interfacing and end to end testing
Understands and follows code control principles
Good written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
Good documentation skills
Strong XML skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio / Visual Studio .NET
Demonstrable understanding of the Software Development lifecycle
