We’re looking for reliable and motivated people to join our community service teams in Hertfordshire, Enfield and Essex. This includes Edgware, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, Welwyn Garden City, Tring, St Albans, Borehamwood, Bricket Wood, Hackney, Harrow and Watford.

About the role

You will support people to do the things they want to do - not to do things for them. You will act as the eyes and ears to ensure that communication is clear and that they are able to move around safely.

We want people with great communication skills to help make a difference to the lives of the people we support. You'll be matched to support one or more people, with each person requiring between 2 and 5 hours support each week. These positions are offered on a casual basis with the opportunity for permanent roles within the future.

Meet some of the people that you could be supporting;

- A gentleman in the Tring area whose independence is very important and enjoys going for long walks whilst exploring his local community

- A Watford based individual who would like to access the community and build his confidence when visiting new environments. He enjoys visiting the local café for coffees and playing cards; he is also a keen football fan!

- In the Edgware area, an individual would like support for three weekends each month for activities such as swimming and visiting multi-sensory rooms.

- A child in Borehamwood requires after school support to engage in sensory stimulation at home and in the community. If you have lots of energy and are ready to have fun, we would like to hear from you.

About you

The ideal candidate will have achieved, or be willing to work toward, a Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and also BSL level one or possess native sign language skills. You will have had experience of working with and providing practical support to, people with learning disabilities and / or multisensory impairments.

A full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is an essential requirement for these roles.
