AWS DevOps Consultant Due to continued growth and investment we are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic DevOp Engineers with a desire to build a career within Cloud solutions. You will be working on cutting edge Cloud Solutions with our large blue chip customer base, the role provides plenty of scope for development and career progression. Role Summary A DevOps consultant is the heart of any project. We are looking for someone who is happy to get involved in all levels of technical discussions while willing and capable to get their hands dirty and get things coded up. You will need to be proactive, collaborative and approachable. No task is beneath you, and you will be willing do what it takes to get the job done. Duties: Assist in design, implementation, support, integration and QA on all pre-production environments Develop and deploy infrastructure using IAC on AWS Develop and enhance IAC and application CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and other cloud native tools. Bridge the gap between existing/open source tools, or at times create brand new tools to assist the daily duties Be a DevOps evangelist! Collaborate, communicate and educate other teams when and where needed. Technical Characteristics - Essential Skills Working knowledge of Cloud concepts AWS CLI, CloudFormation and AWS Python SDK experience Software development concept and tooling such as GIT Generic Scripting experience - bash, python One of the following: Chef/Ansible/Puppet Docker Experience in CI/CD Well versed in Linux and has the skills and confidence to learn and work on Windows when and where needed Other Skills/Experience Ruby Software engineering background Working knowledge of Agile Exposure to other cloud providers such as Azure or GCP Container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes Experience with serverless deployment, maintenance and associated toolchain Experience on RDBMS such as MySQL or Postgres Experience on NoSQL Working knowledge of ITIL Disciplines Ability to maximise knowledge transfer through the production of high quality process documentation Strong adoption of Automation philosophies. Delivery focused with the ability to drive tasks forward and meet demanding deadlines Ability to work effectively as part of a team Excellent written and oral communication skills Strong problem investigation and diagnosis skills The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people internally and externally to the organisation A willingness to be flexible in terms of location, hours and types of work undertaken Pro-active self-learner capable of picking up new technologies quickly - provided by Dice AGILE, AWS, AZURE, CLOUD, DOCKER, GCP, ITIL, LINUX, MYSQL, NOSQL, PUPPET, PYTHON, QA, RDBMS, RUBY, SOFTWARE ENGINEERING, WINDOWS
