Data Protection Officer
The Data Protection Officer role is to take responsibility for the company?s adherence to Data Protection and specifically GDPR regulation. The role covers the ?trading? areas within company's Customer Management division, including all departments and group companies.
You are responsible for monitoring the company's regulated business on a risk based approach, to identify any areas of weakness, to recommend remedial action to ensure that the weaknesses are resolved, and where appropriate, for reporting issues to senior management and the board. You are responsible for liaising with the ICO and reporting breaches to the ICO in a timely manner.
You will ensure processes are in place to monitor adherence to ICO regulation for all direct marketing, online & data marketing activities, business units and products and services, offering advice and guidance for any new or modified regulations as appropriate.
You will oversee and implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with all elements of GDPR and ICO regulation in relation to the client?s legal obligations.
o Principal accountabilities
? To inform and advise the organisation and its employees about their obligations to comply with the GDPR and other data protection laws.
? To monitor compliance with the GDPR and other data protection laws, including managing internal data protection activities, advise on data protection impact assessments; train staff and conduct internal audits.
? Build and maintain audit trials, policies, documentation and the risk and controls structures.
? To be the first point of contact for supervisory authorities and for individuals whose data is processed (employees, customers etc.).
