Web-Ops Engineer – Python, AWS, Docker, Jenkins, PaaS (i.e. Heroku, Cloud Foundry), Kubernetes, Red Hat, Openshift, Digital Service Standards.

This is a contract posts for 6 months, based in Central London.

This client supports UK businesses to take advantage of the global appetite for British goods and services, as well as to assist international companies to collaborate with UK suppliers. We are a specialist body, with new trade negotiating capacities and revolutionising the way businesses access international markets.

Main activities/ responsibilities

The Web Ops Engineer role sits within the Digital Tech teams to ensure all of the digital products are built on solid ground.

Reporting to the Lead Architect, they will build and maintain a scaleable, resilient and performant platform.

The candidate will be expected to :

Apply best practice to hardware and software deployment.

Proactively apply security processes to ongoing work

Ensuring infrastructure performance and availability

Monitor, identify and resolve infrastructure issues

Work utilising agile methodologies (Kanban), to prioritise and deliver business requirements.

Keep abreast of trends and developments in the DevOps community and act as a source of knowledge regarding the choice of approach for new builds.


Multidisciplinary expert who have a deep understanding of networks, firewalls, load-balancing, high availability platforms, disaster recovery, TCP & UDP services, NOC management
Experience of Cloud hosting (Amazon AWS), "0" downtime deploy strategies, containerisation (Docker)
Proof of development background (Python)
Experience of software pipeline design (Jenkins, artefacts registry)
User level experience with PaaS (i.e. Heroku, Cloud Foundry)


Kubernetes, Red Hat, Openshift
