QC Manager / lead analytical chemist (HPLC / UPLC) for senior role at growing pharmaceutical company in London

Your new company
Is a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company in North London, looking to add a QC Manager to their team to take the lead on analytical work, project management and QC strategy.

Your new role
You will be taking the lead on QC activities for the company, with responsibility for the technical, regulatory and strategic aspects of the department.

Your duties will include:

* Hands-on analytical / QC testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products, mainly using HPLC / UPLC;
* Method development and optimisation;
* Responsible for maintenance of the test schedule in support of production and batch release;
* To ensure all equipment is validated, maintained, and calibrated as required;
* To support troubleshooting of equipment, analytical and production processes;
* Responsible for maintenance of the laboratory key performance indicators;
* Budget, source and ensure validation of lab equipment when required;
* Ensuring all QC CAPAs, deviations and change controls are completed in a timely manner, and that Out of Specification (OOS) processes are followed;
* Process development and optimisation;
* Helping host audits.

* Managing all aspects of the Quality Control (QC) laboratory;

* Tech transfer and introduction of new or modified test methods across multiple techniques / instrument platforms;

What you'll need to succeed
As well as very strong communication and organisational skills, you will need:

* A degree in Chemistry or related area, with higher degrees preferred (or equivalent experience);
* Significant analytical chemistry experience, including method development work, ideally using HPLC;
* Good project management skills;
* Strong problem solving abilities;
* Experience dealing with clients, vendors, or both;
* A thorough understanding of GMP regulations.

A background in stability testing would also be an advantage.
