A Global leading healthcare company with extensive heritage in diabetes is seeking to hire a Medical Lead to manage the office-based medical affairs team and oversee the medical strategy for marketed and pipeline brands in diabetes and chronic diseases.

The position sits within the UK team with an innovative pipeline of diabetes products, with a potential blockbuster launching next year and a new product launch every year for the next five years. The position will manage a team of 8 office-based Medical Advisors and will lead the development and implementation of the medical affairs plan for marketed and pre-launch products in diabetes. This is a succession planning role with development opportunities ahead.

A GMC registered physician with experience in a Senior Medical Advisor role is required. The position requires strong leadership potential and developed mentoring or coaching skills. An ability to forge strong relationships with commercial groups, and strategic partnerships with KOLs in the diabetes community will be important. The individual should have led a product launch, organised symposium and worked closely with Market Access teams.

This is a highly respected, scientific and patient centric Global organisation with a strong focus on improving diabetes care. The team is of a high calibre consisting of all medical doctors with final signatory status. An attractive work-life balance and benefits package is on offer. The company encourages promotion and development internally with excellent training and a high retention rate to date. This role is based in the UK and is commutable from the Home Counties, though there is some home working flexibility.
