Job Title: Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer you will contribute to the overall design & development of real-time embedded software, with responsibilities as directed by the SW Team Lead or delegate.

You will develop and maintain software for controlling product operation and fraud detection, and see them used by the company?s customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop real time embedded software for a range of Company products
  • Understand existing fraud detection algorithms and make improvements where necessary
  • Analysis of high level requirements into software design
  • Integrating effectively the various technologies and various software layers, from the hardware to the cloud
  • Development of tools to support embedded software product development
  • Writing functional specifications and design documents
  • Developing testing and validation strategies
  • Other duties as required

Person Specification

  • Proficient in C and ability to develop capability in other languages as required
  • Embedded project experience, i.e. Operation System, board support packages, microcontroller, cloud services
  • Experience in defining software level requirements and design using UML
  • Ability to understand systems from both a systems viewpoint and a detailed component viewpoint
  • Strong system integration skill, including testing and validation to deal with IP that external partner provides
  • Knowledge of interrupt handling and common hardware peripherals
  • Communications protocols. RS232, RS485, TCP/IP, CAN Bus, ModBus
  • Knowledge or experience motor control theory

Some knowledge/experience of:

  • Knowledge of cloud administered access control products, like MQTT protocol, encryption and decryption
  • Demonstrable industrial C++ or C# .net experience
  • Experience with unit/acceptance testing and writing testable code


  • Knowledge of electronics is advantageous.
