Great opportunity for a graduate, apprentice or junior PHP / Back-end developer to join a cash rich communications business based in Manchester's norther quarter, home to numerous established and startup tech businesses.

Based in the heart of Manchester City Centre with offices in London my client have produced an industry leading portal that enables customers to have full visibility of their own communications network end to end, allowing them to quickly run reports on performance and service in real-time. As part of their continued expansion they now seek a junior PHP developer so they can continue to deliver cutting edge industry leading products to their customers. You'll be joining a tight knit tech team that currently has two front end developers and one mid level back end developer who'll take some responsibility for your training and development alongside the CEO of the business.

You may be a recent graduate, self taught, attended an intensive code academy or have some commercial experience, but the most important thing is that you have a passion for code, want to learn and have a 'can do' attitude. You'll have an appreciation of how data travels through a system and have a logical/possible mathematical mindset.

Day to day you'll be learning how to implement new products, feature and functionality within their online platforms including custom reports for individual clients. You'll have knowledge delivering high quality code within tight time frames with a project driven approach.

Core Skills

An knowledge of PHP in either a commercial or non commercial background

Any experience of MVC (preferably Yii2, Laravel, symphony)

Using test suites (selenium, PHPUnit, Codeception etc)

HTML, CSS, SaSS, Bootstrap, JQuery, Ajax, REST

Excellent knowledge of MYSQL

Git and Gitflow

Linux

Desirable Skills

Any other programming languages

Computing degree

Package
