Our customer, a leading player in the Energy & Utilities Market are looking to hire a Test Team Leader for their SMART Metering team.

If you enjoy leading a team, coaching and mentoring junior members of the testing team as well assisting non testers with best practice then this is the role for you. Our client works in a delivery focused environment, often working to tight schedules, so as a senior member of our team you will need a proactive mind-set in order to recognise potential scheduling issues.

Duties and responsibilities include:

As a Test Team Lead you will lead a team of Test Analysts through test execution being the point of contact for issues and escalations and guiding their work effectively to ensure delivery on time. You will be able to respond to change quickly and effectively to minimise down time of the team and be able to delegate work to the team effectively.

Also you will contribute to test planning, estimating and reporting. You will also provide metrics and daily reporting of testing activities undertaken by the team to Test Manager and ensure test documentation and results are of sufficient quality.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

You must be an experienced Test Team Lead having worked across multiple sectors and different environments and functionalities.

It is required that you have the ability to understand use cases, an ability to log test execution results and defects in a comprehensive manner and are able to work effectively with designers and developers in resolving these defects. Team Lead and mentoring experience is essential.

Experience of using

  • HP ALM
  • Quality Centre
  • Test Director
  • Waterfall experience is essential as we use this software and methodology for a large part of our work.
  • SQL knowledge and a familiarity with XML are desirable, but are not essential.
