Database and Insight Senior Executive

Refuge is the UK's largest provider of specialist services for victims of all forms of gender-based violence (domestic, sexual, so called honour' violence, trafficking, prostitution, forced marriage, stalking and FGM). Every day we support over 6,000 women and children in our national network of services. These include Independent Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence Advocacy services (IDVAs / ISVAs and IGVAs), community outreach, specialist refuge accommodation, sanctuary services and culturally-specific services and the Freephone 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline (run in partnership between Refuge and Women's Aid). We advise Government and lobby hard to keep violence against women and girls high on the public agenda. We run award-winning prevention and public education campaigns, managing a busy press office and website, and we are an accredited training provider.

Position: Database and Insight Senior Executive
Location: London - Head Office
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £32,405 - £36,236 (Band 1) per annum

About the role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to manage, maintain and develop the fundraising database at Refuge. The successful candidate will produce insight and data analytics to inform the fundraising strategy to help achieve increasing levels of income.

Responsibilities:

- Overseeing Refuge's Raisers Edge database system to help facilitate and further develop the organisation's fundraising strategy
- Working closely with the senior manager to produce, develop and maintain the structure of all database business rules and set-up functions and to establish, implement and maintain Raisers Edge user guides working with and training the full fundraising team to ensure the database is used consistently and correctly for all fundraising activities
- Working closely with the director of finance to ensure all data protection policies are adhered to in regards to supporter information and ensure that data is processed in such a way as to be compliant with the official registers
- Building and regularly reporting against annual KPIs for the Fundraising team, identifying areas of concern, facilitating decision making, contingency planning and future direction
- Informing the relevant project managers of all database considerations and ensuring these are built into the project planning stages of fundraising activities
- Maintaining links, through User Groups, with Database Managers at other organisations and to hold current knowledge on sector-wide developments and innovations around relational databases

About you:

The successful candidate will need proven experience of managing and maintaining a customer relationship management database as well as project management experience. Additionally, they will need experience of carrying out data selections, segmentation and reporting and using a database to monitor and track results for specific campaigns.

Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and the upcoming GDPR in regard to relational databases and compliance is also essential.
