Nowadays, more and more organisations are developing Software with a Mobile-first strategy as the world becomes more and more open to accessing content on the go.

This organisation are at the forefront of that strategy and are looking to recruit an experienced Lead Mobile Engineer with a background developing iOS applications in an Agile environment.

This position is hybrid with a dual focus on hands on programming and wider responsibilities such as stakeholder management, Mobile architecture (iOS), technical leadership and research. You will act as a technical escalation point within their Mobile function, leading greenfield projects whilst ensuring the support and maintenance of legacy applications.

You will be working on one of the organisation's flagship applications, supporting the existing technology stack whilst also developing a range of new features that look to improve the service it delivers to its customers. The projects will be enterprise-scale and you will get the chance to truly put your stamp on the technology roadmap.

Your role will involve working across the full Software Development Lifecycle with a focus on coding standards and ensuring best practice principles/code quality is consistently maintained. From a technical standpoint, they are looking for knowledge and experience of the following:

  • Excellent programming experience in Objective-C and Swift
  • Experience with APIs (RESTful, SOAP)
  • Experience with Xcode, AutoLayout, Storyboards and SDK Frameworks
  • Experience with Cocoa Touch and SpriteKit
  • Programming experience in C++
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies, Test Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour Driven Development (BDD), Continuous Integration and DevOps
  • Experience unit testing applications
  • Strong understanding of Mobile architecture and technology roadmaps
