Our client is transforming the way consumers borrow and save money. They are the leading peer-to-peer lending company in Europe, delivering better value than traditional banks. More than 60,000 people have lent over £2 billion through them since their launch in 2005, and they are regularly featured in the press as an innovator in their sector.

Salaries range from £50,000 - £80,000 depending on experience. Fantastic benefits package coupled with equity in the business too.

They are looking for people to help both design and build core parts of their next-generation loan servicing platform - there are no ivory tower architects there. They want people that care about the big picture and how their code affects the company - not just now, but in the future as well. Interaction with stakeholders and key business users is a way of life there. They are big believers in a lean philosophy and flexibility in implementation, but do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

They are looking for experienced engineers that have solved big challenges that come from working at scale. They ...

* Deploy when they need to via CI and a completely automated test suite.
* Use cutting-edge infrastructure, like moving towards Kubernetes. DevOps is a way of life there. They collect over 12GB of logs every day
* Work in sprints and constantly make feature releases, with some systems being released to production multiple times per day.
* Operate under a tribe-structure; small teams own their own roadmap, stack and products
* Peer review all code, and value the sharing of knowledge.
* Use the right tool or language for the job, if you can prove better they will use that. (Various teams use mixtures of C#, F#, Go, Java, Python & Ruby)

Ideally :

* You've worked on large scale distributed software systems that have proven scalability and complex topologies.
* Experience with Kafka, or some distributed log / message queuing system
* An advocate of test driven; we are a financial institution and a strong commitment to quality is essential
* Passion for your work and striving to do things the right way
* You can take ownership of tasks and problem solving and see challenges through to completion.
