Job Summary:

The main roles and responsibilities of the DAS will be to visit the supplier on a fortnightly basis and do the following activities

  • Supplier Health Status Review
  • Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly & quarterly reviews based on health status of suppliers
  • Should be able to manage different commodities. Measuring health on 11 key / critical and many other trivial parameters
  • Aiding suppliers to achieve customer set goals and standards
  • Root Cause Investigation and chasing Corrective Action Closure
  • Ensuring buffer level of parts in order to bring down risk level to the respective engine programme
  • Metrics Management
  • Supplier-QuEST-Customer relationship management
  • Healthy communication across width & breadth of the supplier & customer stakeholders.

Tools & Software:

  • MS Office
  • Use of customer systems, where provided
  • Customer provided templates and formats
  • Co-developed software for data management A bit more details into daily activity:
  • Know if the particular supplier has any Quality or OTIF issue from customer system or POC (Point of Contact)
  • Do the assessments at a part level against every engine programme
  • Able to assess if the supplier has demand visibility from customer looking at the SAP system at supplier end
  • If there are active engineering changes at a part level, assess the amount of risk it has down the value chain and mitigate them
  • Parts with key characteristics should be assessed for process capability (SPC). If the Cp/Cpk not acceptable than actions shall be demanded by the DAS from the supplier and monitored
  • Assess OTIF for 100%
  • If there are any escapes the DAS should interact with the SDL and ensure necessary actions are taken and implemented to benefit quick results
  • Measure the PPM at part level
  • If a part requires UPPAP to be submitted, make certain that it is submitted and on-time. Where needed assist the SDL to approve the UPPAP
  • Find if the LTA is there in a place for the supplier and mark it appropriately.
  • LOB (Line of Balance) requirement should be fulfilled by the supplier where needed, and this shall be assessed and approved by the DAS
  • Buffer should be maintained by suppliers for all the part nos. as agreed with the buyer. This shall be ensured by the DAS. If not, LOB balance shall be submitted by supplier
  • On time starts and DTM shall be monitored and recorded
  • FPY should be assessed Deliveries:
  • Provide customer Management the Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly & quarterly status reports
  • Complete customer provided templates and submit back to customer Ability to influence decisions at supplier place which aids to achieve customer goals
