Management Accountant

Location : Farnham

Salary : £30-40,000

My client who are based in Farnham are looking for a Management Accountant to join their team. The Management Accountant is responsible for preparing and analysing key financial information for both monthly management reports and the annual statutory accounts. In addition, they are responsible for cash forecasting and will assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts and ad hoc reporting.

Preparation of monthly Management reports, including Profit and Loss Accounts, Balance Sheet reconciliations, variance analysis against budget and appropriate commentaries

Completion of a monthly set of working papers to support the monthly Management Accounts

Calculation of Accruals and Prepayments and posting relevant Journal Vouchers

Maintaining each Companys Fixed Asset register, including monthly depreciation calculations

Issuing Budget Holder analysis reports and liaising with department heads/Budget holders to ensure compliance with the annual Budgets

Monitor and check the weekly data reports and resolve any queries.

Prepare the weekly Payroll JVs. Review or Prepare performance analysis data for on-going business reporting

Reconcile Sales/COS each month

Review and monitor weekly cash forecasts

Prepare and maintain a comprehensive Procedure file for all key activities and tasks

Ensure all Ledgers are closed promptly on Pegasus

Preparation of audit files for the year end Statutory Accounts and liaise with Auditors as required

Assist the Financial Controller in preparing comprehensive budgets / forecasts

Oversee Credit Control process; review Client Credit Applications and ensure appropriate Credit Insurance is maintained

Prepare Monthly Payroll and file appropriate reports with HMRC

Prepare quarterly VAT returns and ensure they are filed with HMRC on time

Respond to DTI and National Statistics Business Surveys as required

Manage and monitor the Accounts Assistants day to day activities and provide support as required

Skills, Knowledge & Experience


Part qualified (AAT, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience

Exposure to LLP Accounting

Hands on approach

Demonstrates drive and a positive approach with the ability to think innovatively

Good communicator both written and verbal

Excellent analytical and numerical abilities with excellent IT skills

Analytical and logical problem solving skills

Good business and commercial understanding

An ability to communicate financial information in a clear way

Honesty and discretion

Hours of Work

Hours: 8.30am - 5.30pm with 1 hour for lunch (Mon-Thurs) and 8.30am - 5.00pm with 30 minutes for lunch (Fri)
