What’s involved in the role?
We are looking for innovative individuals to join our team of highly skilled software developers. The main purpose of this role is to develop high end software products whilst helping others to do the same.
As a Back-End Developer at Computershare you would be actively involved in the full development stack, from our ISAM database layer, to our COBOL business layer, and our internal business front end. You would be also be instrumental in the full development life cycle, working with our business analysts to gather requirements, right through to developing, testing and deploying software.
In addition you will be expected to contribute to the developer community, which aims to promote innovation, knowledge sharing and industry best practice within the department. You also have the responsibility to ensure that (with the support of your line manager) you keep abreast of the latest technology trends, tools and practices and share your knowledge with the rest of the department.
Who Are We Looking For?
Typically the person we are looking for would have the following skills and experience:
·A relevant commercial programming language.
·Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
·Agile methodology experience (preferably Scrum).
·Unit test frameworks.
·Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience of the following would also be advantageous:
·Red Hat Linux
·ISAM/VSAM file structures.
·Microsoft Team Foundation Server.
·Hewlett Packard Service Point.
