Infrastructure Manager (infrastructure management, Windows 2012, 2008, CommVault, IIS, SAN, VMWare, Exchange, Sharepoint, SAN, LAN, WAN, SQL)

My client are looking for an Infrastructure Manager to work in their London head office. The Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for the technical direction and leadership of the infrastructure team, maintaining the high level and integrity of all infrastructure systems.

Specific minimum qualifications and expertise

Essential Criteria



Proven and significant experience of leading and providing technical guidance to an Infrastructure team
Ability to establish priorities and manage workloads
A broad technical background primarily based on Microsoft products - see Key Outputs and Deliverables section.
Take the lead; define and manage selected infrastructure projects
Experienced in project and workload management (Prince II preferable)
Strong inter-personal and communication skills across both the business and technical domains
Skilled in standardisation and documentation of systems and tendering specification preparation
Commercial awareness - proven ability to scope and cost infrastructure and IT operational initiatives, inclusive of business and non-technical considerations
Evaluate technical solutions and articulate business value of IT initiatives
MCTS or MCITP or equivalent
ITIL V3 qualified
Hands-on, style with a positive "can do" attitude

Purpose

Provide technical direction, leadership and expertise
Allocate and prioritise workload and tasks across the infrastructure team, guided by the Head of IT Operations
Provide technical assurance on team's work
Lead on IT Infrastructure technical components that support compliance with KPI's on availability, capacity, and integrity.
Technical development, delivery and maintenance of IT infrastructure to meet Ofgem's business requirements
Project management of Infrastructure projects
Ensure Infrastructure is correctly scoped and implemented for business requirements






Key outputs and deliverables


Show the main areas of responsibility broken down into a list of the main tasks.



Maintain availability and integrity of Infrastructure systems
Technically proficient supporting existing systems and implementing new IT systems
Technical Support for: Microsoft Server 2008/12, Microsoft SQL 2008/12, Exchange 2010, SharePoint 2007/10, IIS, VMWARE VSphere, CommVault Backup, Cisco network devices (LAN, WAN), security architecture (CheckPoint)
Proactively monitor and identify likely IT infrastructure problems
Support and maintain a growing Microsoft server environment, VMWARE, SAN, network devices and associated applications
Ensure that operational standards, policies and procedures are developed, documented, maintained, applied and continuously updated for all equipment and systems which comprise the IT infrastructure domain
Ensure change control and scheduled operations within the production environments are fully compliant with established and communicated policy and procedure
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure the effective introduction of new systems
Investigate and progress any opportunities to improve IT infrastructure services provided to business users.
Design, maintain and continuously test the Business Continuity plan
Manage and develop Infrastructure team; promoting their skills, development and motivation
Manage Infrastructure resource allocation to support existing business and project activity

Ensure system availability
Manage and implement major infrastructure changes and upgrades
Part responsibility for the IT budget
Infrastructure Technical Direction
Operational security of the IT Infrastructure
Ensure Infrastructure elements of Security Policy Framework and ISO 27001 are maintained and improved
Administration and leadership of team
