Person specification - STEM Teaching Assistant
This role requires a dedicated and patient individual who has a true passion for education. You will hold a 2:1 or above degree in a STEM related subject. This position is well suited for someone who is a quick learner and has previous experience of working with children, not necessarily in a school based setting.
This thriving secondary school is committed to inspiring pupils through innovative and practical learning methods and is wholly invested in their successful team of graduates who are driven to learn and be a key part of their department. You will be part of a national drive looking to solve the STEM shortage; introducing pupils to the technical and real world applications of STEM, enabling them to understand how their world is ruled by Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and find a love for such an important part of their education.
You will be assisting throughout the whole department within the classroom, as well as leading your own booster sessions in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. You will need to show a passion for your subject and an understanding of how to support young people through practical and written approaches. You will need to show an ability to think on your feet and be enthusiastic and positive.
This superb secondary school in Manchester benefits from a beautiful new building and state-of-art facilities. They have invested in the Science departments this year and are keen to ensure pupils make excellent progress.
