We have a new opportunity for a person with a head for numbers to join the Head Office Merchandising team of a growing retail business as an Assistant Merchandiser. Pavers is a family run retail footwear business and is currently in a huge period of growth with exciting times ahead.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team who has a keen interest in retail and a passion for product. You'll need to be commercially aware and especially enjoy working with the numeric stocks and sales data - with the ability to collate and analyse in order to allocate stock effectively to meet company sales targets and KPI's.

Up to £19,000 plus bonus and benefits

Responsibilities:

  • Data analysis to allocate, process and transfer stock (in accordance with the Merchandisers feedback/guidance), including using our SMART allocation system
  • Proactively and efficiently support and assist the Merchandisers with their daily/weekly/monthly duties
  • Assistance with store layouts/redesigns using sales information
  • Assist with merchandising queries and provide analysis about our stores
  • Work towards maximising sales in our stores using available stock, through logical thinking and a proactive response
  • Generate and issue precise sales information and summaries across the business
  • Undertake quarterly store visits to understand stock positions and gather feedback
  • Issuing messages/instructions to stores via telephone/email

The candidate:

  • Educated to A Level or equivalent (ideally business/maths/IT related)
  • Strong MS Excel skills
  • GCSE maths (grade B or above)
  • Highly analytical
  • Ideally, knowledge of the retail sector, footwear sector or a merchandising department
  • Experience of working with numeric information (e.g. sales patterns and forecasts)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Computer literate and confident/enjoys working at a PC
  • Strong prioritisation skills and ability to manage own workload
  • Ability to work flexibly and multi-task whilst managing time excellently
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and always happy to help
  • Ability to make decisions and use own initiative
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude with willingness to go the extra mile
