Turbomachinery Mechanical Engineer

A leading organisation that specialises in the design and development for the next generation of Aerospace engines. They have recently started a ground-breaking innovative project and as a result of this, they are seeking a Turbomachinery Mechanical Engineer, on a permanent basis, to carry out design, analysis and integration of the turbomachinery design & technology development.

Turbomachinery Mechanical Engineer

The Turbomachinery Mechanical Engineer will receive:

THE CANDIDATE

Turbomachinery Mechanical Engineer

The Turbomachinery Mechanical Engineer will require the following:

Essential Skills / Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of turbomachinery and power transmissions systems (including bearings and seals).
  • Must have experience in the design and analysis of turbomachinery.
  • Must have experience of manufacturing and testing of turbomachinery parts.
  • Must have experience in the use of commercial Finite Element codes and CAD software systems.
  • would ideally have experience within the aerospace industry

Desirable:

  • Degree or similar in Mechanical Engineering /Aerospace related qualification or an appropriate scientific discipline
  • Experience with numerous NPI cycles
  • Knowledge of weld specification, analysis and test procedures
  • Knowledge of ASME or similar standards

THE ROLE

Turbomachinery Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a Turbomachinery Mechanical Engineer to join an exciting new venture and hit the ground running. We are also looking for a team player who has a positive approach to work and can focus when completing a variety of responsibilities.

Day to day tasks will include:

  • Carry out the design, analysis and integration of turbo-machinery components, including bearings and seals.
  • Work with other departments and external partners to deliver all aspects of the design, analysis for turbomachinery components
  • Carry out mechanical analysis including hand calculations and FE analysis of turbomachinery components.
  • Investigate materials and manufacturing methods for the turbomachinery
