The Role

University College London are looking to appoint an Identity Applications Team Leader within the Information Services Division. The role will involve leading a team of 2-3 technical analysts, providing 2nd and 3rd line support for Identity and Access Management applications and services.

Job Responsibilities

As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of IT services across UCL. In addition to providing high level technical support, the successful candidate will also be involved in the planning and coordination of development for IAM applications, and support across the application development lifecycle.

You will act as ambassador for IAM principles, representing IAM to the business, the security teams and senior stakeholders, and will be the subject matter expert providing guidance to how UCL can improve integration and optimise capabilities of IAM solutions that will help drive the delivery of more effective services.

Core Skills

- A passion for IAM, such as Identity Life cycle, Authentication, Authorisation, and role based access control.
- Technical exposure to IAM technologies
- Experience of working with directory synchronisation tools and cloud based solutions
- Exposure of working with ActiveDirectory, Linux, Open LDAP
- Technical experience of enterprise level database management systems (Oracle or MS SQL Server)
- Exposure of web based application development (Java/PHP)
- Experience of leading a small team in a development environment
- An understanding of the application development lifecycle
- ITIL qualified or experience of working within an ITIL ed environment


- You will be a self-motivated and dynamic, and able to engage, challenge and influence others
- A track record of developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships across IT and the wider institution
- An ability to explain technical issues to non-specialists, and to write clear technical reports and other formal documentation for solution deployments and evaluations is essential.
