Head of Content Regulation

We are currently recruiting an Head of Content regulation on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will lead the development of a policy / regulatory strategy for content, assist with consumer regulation, create alignment between the clients local market activities. This is initially a 6-12 month contract based in Paddington with 20% travel to mainly in Brussels; my client is one of UK's largest telecoms companies.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership
  • Define the strategic and operational policy challenges in relation to current and future Clients audio-visual content strategy across the Clients footprint
  • Identify and coordinate existing content practitioners, creating global strategy, and engagement plan for the community
  • Closely work with commercial and regulatory teams to provide hands on policy and regulatory support
  • Lead Clients public policy and regulatory position on content and selected consumer regulation at the EU level.


Core competencies, knowledge and experience
  • Significant senior policy / legal expertise in the area of content and consumer regulation
  • Very senior advocacy skills, both within a large organisation and externally
  • Ability to set strategy
  • Ability to build and influence an international community of experts


Key performance indicators
  • Creating and implementing the content policy strategy
  • Influencing key legislation e.g. Copyright Directive/Regulation and SatCab Directive, Digital Content Directive and Tangible Goods Directive
  • Providing assistance to the clients operating companies on content consultations and issues


Previous qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have a degree qualified in relevant legal, economics or policy.
