Support Engineer

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Support Engineer to join our dynamic and friendly team based in Harpenden during an exciting time of our organisation's development. As the Support Engineer you will be responsible for helping support our users with IT support.

The Support Engineer will you will provide 1st and 2nd line guidance and support to our staff. As the Support Engineer will assist with resolving hardware and software issues on both Windows and Mac operating systems as well as a range of scientific applications.

As the successful Support Engineer you will be logging support requests through our ticket system and escalating IT issues to the IT Service Desk manager where necessary. We have recently received funding for several large projects, so you will also be involved in these as instructed by the Service Desk Manager.

Key skills needed for the Support Engineer:
  • Proven background within a 1st and/or 2nd line helpdesk support role
  • Hardware and software experience / knowledge
  • Technical build and problem-solving skills
  • A passion for technology, with a keenness to learn new skills and progress your career
  • Ideally you will have experience of mobile devices, tablets, printers & multi-function devices
