IT Support Technician - 2nd line - £24,000 - £26,000 - Windows - Support - Hardware - Software - Networks - North Bristol

The role involves the general support of the IT systems of a wide and varied selection of external customers. You would be involved in a variety of different stages of the project lifecycle, from installations through to updates, fixing network issues, and first and second line customer support. No two days are the same, and you therefore need to be versatile and adaptable in your approach to different tasks. A passion for IT and aptitude for learning is a must. You will gain hands-on experience quickly, in multiple areas of IT Support.

As a member of the IT Support team you will be:

- Supporting internal and external systems
- Working on the configuration, installation and support of organisational networks, email, intranet and web systems
- Maintaining various areas of hardware and software; Desktops, peripherals, servers etc.
- Administering daily back-ups, logs and reports. Including the monitoring of PC performance
- Testing new software and hardware platforms, before rollout, accounting for any possible issues
- Documenting errors, failures and hardware removals accurately and in a timely fashion
- Keeping up to date with the world of IT, possibly using your knowledge to implement new ideas and strategies
- Working in predominantly Microsoft environments

As a member of the IT Support Team you will have:

- Excellent customer service skills both face to face and phone calls
- Experience mentoring junior members of staff
- Experience of Infrastructure (VMware, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Windows Server)
- Experience of Networking (Cisco, Dell switches, routers etc.) will be beneficial
