IT Application Support Analyst - Windows/MS Office/Powershell/EPOS/Bespoke Applications

Our client is recruiting for an Application Support Analyst to provide 1st and 2nd line support fixing application faults. As an Application Support Analyst, you will work closely with the internal and external support and development teams to understand the application estate and build a portfolio of products in use and develop Incident Management processes to enhance the support process. The job calls for both technical capability and a high degree of business understanding which will need to be absorbed quickly.
You will report into the IT Service Delivery Manager.

Main Responsibilities
?Perform 1st and 2nd line support duties for all application related Incidents and Requests
?Use the LANDesk call management system to record incidents, service requests and changes
?Build a continual service improvement plan for application support
?Define user requirements across the live application portfolio and agree user training plans
?Create a library of service descriptions and support documentation for applications, including but not limited to; overview of critical processes, service hours, support hours, failover and critical dependencies
?Work with the service delivery and change management teams to ensure incident management practices are thoroughly adhered to for application support
?Build a strong relationship with third parties to provide incident support through to resolution with specific systems and applications
?Assist the Service Delivery Manager with the development and preparation of policies and procedures and other relevant documentation
?Input into contract discussions of any new suppliers

Your profile
This is a new role at this company and as such you must hold a broad experience of application technologies, to enable you to troubleshoot incidents and requests across a variety of systems. Therefore, experience in the following are essential, with some highly desired:

?Windows Operating Systems (Windows 7 and above)
?Managing web applications (IIS/Application Server Roles)
?Database connection methods (Access, SQL, Oracle)
?Microsoft Office applications
?EPOS (highly desired)
?Financial and Payroll systems (highly desired)
?The ability to troubleshoot, under pressure, in accordance with SLA's
?Experience in a variety of desktop technologies
?Industry standard qualifications, for example ITIL v3
?Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people, both senior and junior, throughout the organisation
?Excellent customer service delivery skills
?Good organisational and problem-solving skills, with close attention to detail
?A high standard of documentation skills

You will be required to provide occasional evening and weekend support as and when required. This will include providing telephone support, out of hours and on call support at weekends.
