The Functional Experts for CRM and Student Life Cycle Management arepart of the team that designs, configures and supports the technical solutionsto deliver business improvements and efficiency across all CRM and Student Life Cycle operations. They will be responsible for the translation of businessand functional requirements into technical specifications and ensuring technicaldesigns meet ITMS / DMU stakeholders needs, developing solutions with customerswithin the current constraints. Please quote reference: 11074 Closing Date: 12 November 2017 Interview Date: To be confirmed Job Description Functional Consultant Student Life Cycle and Student CRM Directorate of Information Technology and Media Services Permanent, Full time Duties of the role Overall purpose of the role Reporting to the ITMS Platform Lead (SAP) within Platform Development,the four Functional Consultant for the following four areas (Finance,HR/Payroll, SLCM and Student CRM) is part of the Platform Team that designs, configures and supportsthe technical solutions to deliver business improvements and efficiency across all operations. To be responsible for the translation of business and functionalrequirements into technical specifications and ensuring technical designs meet ITMS / DMUstakeholders needs, aligning to the Universitys enterprise architecture principles and blueprint. It is the role of the Functional Consultant to develop acceptable /feasible solutions with the internal customer, understanding high-level needs, budget and timeconstraints, capturing, referencing and providing traceability of stakeholder inputs towardspotential solutions. Main duties and responsibilities 1. Support the design of the SAP portfolio of applications (andintegrated / interfacing applications), platforms and databases to the defined standards, to a. Work closely with ITMS Platform Lead (SAP) to analyse, decompose and design the solutions to meet business and functional requirements b. Responsible for ensuring that the technical designs and functional specifications (and others) for solutions are consistently generated c. Ensure applications are designed to the ITMS standards, including,but not limited to, security, accessibility, usability and compatibility d. To produce wireframes, prototypes and proof of concepts to support the usability designing process e. To translate technical information and business requirements and tobe able to communicate and present to a non-technical audience f. To be able to present a case for change and influence opinion whist presenting a balanced and fair case 2. Work closely with ITMS Platform Lead (SAP), configure and regressiontest the SAP portfolio of applications, platforms and databases to the defined standards a. Configure the respective business area and making sure the systemreacts as designed. b. Responsible for the overall integrity of applications and relatedsolutions and functionalities c. Ability to undertake sophisticated analysis within area of expertiseand act as Project Manager for small projects d. Work closely with the SMEs in providing seamless end to end user experience e. To fulfil the role of Technical Lead on smaller projects and changes 3. Support and maintain the applications, platforms and databases a. Responsible for providing 3rd line support to diagnose and resolves incidents and service requests. Ensure support is provided to the agreed service levels. b. Support colleagues with proactive patching and preventativemaintenance of applications for regression testing during upgrades, implementation of support packs c. Works with the IT Business Partners to ensure appropriate structuresare set up across University operations to provide business solutions support to end-users d. Support Business Process owners in defining and testing theircontinuity plans and undertake DR testing when required e. Responsible for providing solution specific training 4. Support the ITMS Programme and Change Management by - a. Configuring software solutions on time and to budget in an agile development environment b. To work agile, providing input into stand-ups, scrums and supportthe planning process and communication processes. c. In collaboration with the Business Owners, Senior Developers and Business Partners, input into the back log and the rolling 3 months development schedule, assisting in prioritising tasks d. To provide accurate build estimates, advice on options and inputinto feasibility studies and project planning 5. Work closely within the ITMS design Community, colleagues and thebusiness to a. Liaise and collaborate with non-SAP, BI, UX and integration todeliver end-toend solutions b. Help build a strong and effective customer focused and professional service, looking for opportunities to continuously improve service. c. Contribute to the applications strategy and the universitys overallICT strategy d. Drive corporate standards for student experience e. Owns the day-to-day operational and delivery level relationship with suppliers across solutions and supports ITS leadership in the strategicmanagement of the suppliers and vendors 6. Remain innovative and stay abreast of all relevant industry and technological developments in the market place. Take responsibility for own personal development. 7.
