Group Financial Accountant
Eden Scott's client is an Edinburgh headquartered business with global presence in the logistics, distribution and service sectors. In this role you will support Group level reporting in the production of quality financial reports that will be used to accurately report on performance and infer decision making. This appointment is key to the ongoing success of the business and you will provide information to assist in making key decisions. The Candidate The successful candidate will be a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW, ICAS or equivalent) or ACCA trained in the context of a well-regarded accountancy firm. You will have expertise in IFRS, UK GAAP, FRS101, FRS102 or other technical reporting standards. A grounding within the Big 4 is preferred. You will have a University degree or equivalent higher education grounding in a numerate field. You will have undergone a rigorous training programme specialising in Audit or General Practice and have broad experience of analysing and preparing detailed reports. The successful candidate will be highly IT literate and in particular have detailed working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Communication skills are vitally important including the ability to write detailed and insightful reports and to verbally communicate with senior and executive management across the group. This person will be expected to solve problems and deliver a high level of analytical ability. You will be career motivated and hungry to build a career within the context of a large and complex business. The Duties & Responsibilities This is a corporate reporting role where you will lead on the preparation of UK statutory accounts and coordinate the reporting of overseas legal entities. You will prepare quarterly, half-yearly and annual financial statements for bank reporting purposes. You will make an active contribution to the consolidated accounts and supporting analysis packs. Preparation of balance sheets and attendant analysis/commentary. Supporting the audit process and taking part in internal audit activities. Various other duties surrounding taxation and legal entity reporting and analysis.
