IT Project Manager - London

My client is looking to recruit an experienced IT Project Manager who will be involved in various technical focused projects across the group, from implementing new systems, to enhancing existing platforms and software.

This is a 12 month FTC, with potential to move into a permanent role.

Purpose of the Role:

  • Managing the projects to successful delivery within Prince 2 project governance structures, as defined by the group PMO.
  • Report to a project board and deliver routine project update reports to board members and other stakeholders.
  • The post-holder will report to the Group Programme Manager and will also liaise with the Head of PMO
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Company’s risk assessment practices and Health & Safety Policy requirements.
  • Liaising with Key external stakeholders
  • Liaising as required with key suppliers
  • The PM will leverage decision making through the use of formal project governance processes and forums.
  • Coordinate with Group ITPMO
  • Follow the personal and professional behaviours and values.
  • Prioritising workloads in respect to challenges from project requirements
  • Ensuring all stakeholders are informed of the approaches taken
  • The projects are multi-faceted and have a range of work streams and stakeholders, both inside and outside the business
  • Assist the ITSO enhancements project.

Candidate Skill Set

  • Education & Qualifications
  • Qualified to degree standard or equivalent
  • Prince 2 Project Practitioner Qualification
  • Technically-oriented PM
  • Experience of delivering complex IT projects in a fast paced and challenging environment
  • ITSO knowledge desirable
  • Worked in Rail desirable
  • Excellent Stakeholder Engagement
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Able to manage upwards
  • Ability to lead meetings and present to project Boards and senior management.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrable ability of successfully managing complex multi-faceted projects to time and budget
