Information Security Consultant
Cyber Security / Risk Management / ISO / GDPR / Policies / Contract / 7 Months

An Information Security Consultant required to join one of the larger financial institutes based in West Yorkshire for an initial 7 month contract. As the Information Security Consultant you will be responsible for making sure the information within the organisation is reliable, safe and secure.

You'll analyse where security breaches may occur or have occurred, and repair or strengthen systems against such breaches. This relates to the systems and networks used by the Society to manage our information and information technology.

Key Responsibilities

*Working as part of the Information Security team, you will advise the business on security standards and policies
*Present advice, consultancy and guidance, acting as a subject matter expert with all matters relating to Information Security
*Help to develop and improve the approach to information security risk assessments and reviews
*Carry out reviews both internally and externally
*Liaise with 3rd Party Suppliers
*Communicate effectively with IT and non-technical colleagues in relation to security issues
*Perform key business audits to understand and implement the future direction of Information Security and Governance throughout the business
*Produce and provide metrics to Senior Management - ensuring they are updated with the direction of the Information Security function.

Key Skills

You must have experience in some of the following:
*Experience of risk management (essential).
*Experience in both technical and non-technical areas of Information Security (essential).
*Strong understanding of industry recognised frameworks (ISO27001).
*Experience of security-focused project engagement and consultancy.
*Strong technical knowledge of Windows, UNIX, networks, and Oracle databases (analysis, design, testing) plus security tools.
*Excellent communication, influencing, and problem solving skills.
*Ability to prepare detailed risk assessments and recommendations on sensitive issues.
*A working knowledge of Data Privacy regulations and GDPR would be advantageous.
