JOB: KEY ACCOUNT MANAGER (Account Manager, Key Account Manager, CCG Account Manager, Senior Medical Sales Representative)

You will be part of a speciality pharmaceutical organisation who focus on the marketing and commercialisation of branded and generic pharmaceutical products. This company have a commitment to continued investment in both niche and branded pharmaceuticals supplemented by a strong sales & management team.


- This is a truly accountable role where you will be responsible for all the business in your geographical area, through working in partnership with broad customer groups over a variety of different therapy areas, you will be offering cost effective solutions to the NHS.
- You will be launching a new product to market within Rheumatology and Haematology (Leukaemia - Adult & Paediatrics), so experience within these therapy areas will be beneficial (although not essential). Product launch is imminent, therefore you will be involved in the market access and associated pull through as your main priority
- You will be responsible for managing and developing a sales territory and ensuring sales targets for your portfolio are achieved through optimal formulary positioning in both primary and secondary care.
- Your customer group includes (but is not limited to) Target GPs, GPWSi's, Community Pharmacy, Primary and Secondary care, Specialist Nurses, Hospital Consultants, Paediatric Consultants, Registrars, Hospital pharmacy, Payor/CCG personnel who work across the primary / secondary care interface along with any other relevant HCPs identified as local influencers or stakeholders to your business.


- Driving sales for your products to a broad customer group to ensure an increase in sales and market share on your territory
- Identifying opportunities for business growth at territory and key account level
- Creation and implementation of a robust business plan
- Prioritisation based on business needs and potential
- Ability to act swiftly to maximise all opportunities identified
- Key Account Management Working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure maximum uptake of products and to maxmise pull through
- Establishment of long term relationships with all customers in order to develop partnerships


- Experience within Secondary Care and CCG's - established networks throughout the Midlands (East & West)
- Excellent selling, negotiation and networking skills
- Strong business planning ability
- Sound understanding of UK pharmaceutical industry - being able to demonstrate aware of NHS policies, structures and processes
- ABPI qualification
- Full UK driving licence with a max of 6 penalty points
- Track record of sales success within pharmaceutical sales


- An analytical thinker - demonstrating evidence of both numerical and verbal reasoning
- Be educated to degree level or equivalent
- Have some therapy area knowledge/experience of Dermatology, Gastro/GI, Respiratory, Oncology or Haematology - would be advantageous although not essential
- Competent in the use of MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- A driven, self-starter who wants to make a difference and achieve results!
