Those roles will mostly be IT-based, with SportPesa's local partner 'Sportsoft' pushing for a local recruitment drive in Merseyside as part of a long-term vision. Job brief
Our team of trailblazers and innovators is now seeking a highly creative and innovative Software Developer to work in our Liverpool office. You will be responsible for understanding business requirements and translating them into well tested, maintainable, and reliable software.
You will develop our applications, server and database that make up the foundational structure of the website, you will be a part of a highly collaborative team who are adept at solving complex digital problems.
Your implementation suggestions will help us strike a balance between simplicity and achieving the desired outcomes for our users. We will rely on your insights and innovation to keep our products relevant and valuable for our customers.
You will enjoy enhancing our current product to make it even more relevant to the end user. You will partner with other teams to make sure technologies align across the platform to provide the best ongoing, reliable experience.
Responsibilities • Deliver fully functioning web-based and mobile applications that meet business goals. • Contribute to the architecture across the technology stack, from database to native apps. • Get feedback from, and build solutions for, users and customers. • Write clean code to develop functional web applications and participate in the entire application lifecycle, focusing on coding and debugging. • Collaborate with Front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic. • Gather and address technical and design requirements, build reusable code and libraries for future use. • Troubleshoot and debug applications, perform UI tests to optimize performance.
Requirements Essential • 2+ years history of development in several of the following technologies: SCALA, ERLANG, Javascript, NodeJS, C++, etc. • Good working knowledge and interest in Java, Ruby on Rails, etc. (knowledge of Elixir and OTP is an advantage). • Experience with containerisation (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes). • Experience with relational and non-relational data stores (e.g., MongoDB, CouchDB, Cassandra, etc.). • Significant experience writing and utilising RESTful API services and performance tuning large scale applications. • Excellent working knowledge of HTTP and REST.
• Experience with system and application monitoring solutions. • Desire to get your hands dirty from time to time with ops duties. • Willingness to learn new languages should the need arise. • First-hand experience with Agile development methodologies. • Ability to work collaboratively as a team-player in a cross-functional environment. • Ability to be productive in an autonomous, high-trust environment.
Desirable • An active Github account that shows diversity of interests. • Experience writing sane high-concurrency systems. • Experience with wrangling large data stores.
