This is a unique chance to join us as part of our expanding IT function. We are currently looking for an experienced IT Applications Manager to come in and oversee the diverse application suite, both from a project and operational perspective.

As the IT Applications Manager, you will lead a small team of System Analysts and be responsible for designing, implementing and managing the IT applications supporting core business processes including Finance, HR, Procurement, Training and Document Management

You will be responsible for operational support, but also elements of implementation of new applications and upgrades of existing systems, working in partnership with the business to understand corporate priorities and business objectives and translate them into effective support strategies and visions for developing and modernising the application ecosystem.

A highly flexible and proactive approach is required for driving continuous improvement and efficiencies, delivering high quality support and strong leadership of IT Applications and developing strategic partnership with 3rd party software or service suppliers

Profile

As the IT Applications Manager, you will have a strong background in leading an Applications Support team in a Head of / IT Manager capacity.You will have a proven track-record in being a 'finisher', rather than a blue-sky thinker, and you will be someone who can not only aid in design, but also implement and support systems.You will have outstanding communication skills, and the ability to manage relationships with a number of different stakeholders, both internally and externally.About you

Educated to degree level or equivalent IT qualificationExperience of managing relational databases, preferably using SQL ServerExperience of Visual intermediateExcellent knowledge of Microsoft software and associated products.Experience of analysing and interpreting complex data and producing high quality information and reportsunderstanding of the Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation.High level of computer literacy with the ability to identify and develop system and process solutions to improve service quality and efficiencyAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesBe able to work alone and tackle tasks proactively.Show good initiative and take ownership of tasks or issuesHas a professional demeanor, positive and flexible attitude and good inter-personal and communication skills.Please see the attached Job description for further information.
