The Client-

International financial services business providing personal and business loans.

This Client does not provide sponsorship.

The role-

  • Accumulate detailed knowledge of their designated business unit through regular meetings and interactions with key stakeholders including the Managing Director and function Heads
  • Keep abreast of 2nd line activities through regular meetings and interactions with colleagues and line management
  • Facilitate and drive a regular review of regulatory risk and control assessments with representatives from first and second line
  • Field and answer initial regulatory queries from business areas, maintaining required logs and engaging Group colleagues as necessary
  • Refer more complex regulatory queries to the Advice team and track to ensure the matter is satisfactorily resolved for the business
  • Attend Operational forums, proactively providing a regulatory risk perspective and offering challenge as appropriate
  • Secure, review and challenge regulatory MI received from 1st line oversight
  • Be the point of contact for the Monitoring team when conducting monitoring activities
  • Support accountable business owners to devise suitable remedial actions to fully discharge compliance monitoring issues in order to prevent recurrence
  • Develop relationships with key management across the business and seek to understand the business processes that are subject to regulatory requirements
  • Co-ordinate the breach reporting process (i.e. the business will report policy breach to BP, who will facilitate the completion of a breach form, assist in agreeing and assigning 1st line owners and actions and track actions through to completion)
  • Support the 1st line to facilitate breach resolution
  • Proactively input into the preparation of reports and MI Lines 1 & 2 and governance committees

Key Requirements-

  • Detailed technical knowledge of consumer credit, CONC, CCA, COB and DISP
  • Experience of business banking finance from a regulatory standpoint
  • Knowledge of FCA requirements and risk identification
  • Commercially aware individual with regard to risk assessment
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to negotiate and influence
  • Comfortable dealing with EXCO members
