Sainsbury’s Magazine, Senior Sub-Editor
Do you know your roulade from your ragout? Could you write great headlines for features on meringues, meditation or Mexico? If so you might be the experienced, creative sub-editor that we are looking for.
Sainsbury’s magazine is looking for a Senior Sub-Editor with solid subbing experience on a consumer magazine, and a passion for food and women’s lifestyle, to join our small, busy subs team on the most widely read glossy in the UK.
The bulk of your day will be taken up with fitting layouts; editing copy to house style; fact checking; headline, intro and caption writing; and reading and correcting final colour proofs, and experience of this on features, lifestyle and most importantly recipe content is vital.
In addition, along with all the editorial team you’ll be expected to contribute ideas for content, relish the opportunity to attend foodie events, be excited about contributing restaurant reviews or online news stories and take pleasure in writing advertorials for both Sainsbury’s magazine and Weight Watchers magazine, as required. You will also be responsible for subbing copy for the website as needed.
You’ll need to be a whiz on InDesign, be pedantic about detail, brimming with enthusiasm – and if you know your way around GoPublish, that’s a bonus. Oh, and a love of cake comes in handy too.
If that sounds like you then please send an up-to-date copy of your CV and a covering note telling us why you would be perfect for this role by completing the application form below.
