Java Software Engineer | Staines | £50,000 - £60,000

My client a leader in dynamic ad insertion technology are looking for an mid-senior developer to join their established team of Senior Developments. You will be working with some of the biggest names in broadcasting to allow them to seamlessly replace broadcast ads in a live stream.

The core platform is built on Java, but for this role I am looking for candidates who are also comfortable developing in other common scripting and programming languages used within mobile and web systems. Plus have the willingness and passion to learn new languages and frameworks when required.

Requirements -

  • 3 years commercial experience in Java 1.6 or above
  • A solid working knowledge of the HTTP protocol, XML parsing and generation, and web services.
  • Knowledge of web application frameworks such as Angular, jQuery or Prototype.
  • Ability to pick up new languages
  • Familiar with one or more mobile environments - IOS, Android or Windows Phone
  • Familiar with one or more scripting languages - PHP, Ruby, Python or NodeJS
  • Core software engineering skills

Desirable Requirements -

  • Experience in working with streaming portocols.
  • Understanding of x264 or video encoding and packaging.
  • Experience or knowledge of the operation of broadcast systems.
