Scrum - Agile - Waterfall - Product Development - Team Management - Continuous improvement

A prestigious international law firm is looking to hire an experienced Scrum Master for a 6-month contract in their London office.

The Scrum Master will be responsible for Product Development, Team Management and Coaching & Mentoring of the development team. This role will require the candidate to provide coaching on the basics of the Scrum framework and lead and promote Agile values and ensure company policies and procedures are always met. The Scrum master will work with the Product Owner to ensure that the Product Backlog is properly maintained and will be responsible for removing any impediments to the development team's progress.

Role and responsibilities
  • Managing project plans, timelines and budgets
  • Facilitate daily stand ups and sprint planning sessions
  • Work with key stakeholders to provide metric level updates on progress and minimise disruption to their teams


Key requirements
  • Aptitude for and experience of creating, managing, motivating and developing teams
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written and presentation)
  • Experience of conflict resolution, facilitation, and coaching skills
  • Good knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches e.g. XP, Kanban etc
  • Understanding of the basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures


Experience
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role within an agile environment applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory
  • Proven experience in delivering software in a professional and corporate working environment
  • Experience of working in an agile environment, but within a waterfall organisation
  • Three years' Experience playing the Scrum Master role
  • Technical background preferred with a wide range of experience across many technical areas
  • Experience of delivering service quality within an ITIL framework
