This role involves working within a team of fraud specialists and legal support staff in an open plan environment. The fraud Fee Earner will run a reduced caseload of litigated cases on behalf of a cross section of insurance clients. The role requires a forensic and analytical approach to dealing with evidence and attention to detail.

It will be the responsibility of the Fraud Fee Earner to run fraud cases from the pre litigation investigation stage.

Key Accountabilities

The caseload will consist of a range of suspected fraudulent insurance claims consisting of the following types of claim:

RTA - Bogus Passenger Claims
RTA - Staged/Contrived
RTA - Fraudulent Exaggeration
Low Speed Impact

It is anticipated that on joining the team, candidates will initially handle a caseload largely consisting of motor related claims, with opportunities to handle other types of suspected fraudulent claims being provided as candidates develop and demonstrate their capabilities.

• Responsibilities in case management include:
• Detailed review and analysis of evidence throughout the life of the case
• Running files in accordance with agreed client guidelines on a delegated fixed fee basis
• Set and agree strategy on file, delegating tasks as appropriate to FEA to take forward
• Legal Research
• Liaising with the Underwriting Department at Insurers and Policy Interpretation
• Liaise with policy holders and witnesses as necessary
• Liaising with CRU
• Liaising with clients / other insurers / third parties
• Negotiate settlement
• Attending Client meetings where required which includes the provision of training/workshops to clients as well as social entertaining
• To ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2011
